General Site Description

The eForensics.info website, a spin-off site from eSkeletons.org, presents the more advanced student with forensic case studies within a rich problem solving context that applies what they have learned from the eSkeletons site. Teaching modules for age estimation, sex determination, and, with the use of on-screen digital caplipers, stature estimation are available. Questions in assessing ancestry, pathology, and taphonomic processess are also addressed.

General Site Requirements

Below are some general system requirements and configurations necessary to access this site.

  1. This site will work with Microsoft Internet Explorer. Make sure your browser version is Internet Explorer 4.5 (or higher) and that Javascript is enabled. You can check this setting in the 'Preferences' dialog box under the 'Edit' menu.

  2. Your computer's screen settings should be set to at least 800 by 600 pixels and True Color (or at least thousands of colors). These parameters can be set in the Display Properties dialog box in the Control Panel (Windows 95/98/NT) or in the Monitor in the Control Panels (Macintosh). We recommend settings of 1024 by 768 or greater if possible.

  3. Have you visited the Plug-ins Page? There are several plug-ins required for your browser to be able to display the Interactive Forensic Cases.

  4. Because some of the files and applets associated with this site are rather large, it may take a little time for the files to load on your machine. Please be patient - it may appear that your computer has "frozen up" but in all likelihood it is just downloading.
